About Us

Coventry Village Courtyard Homes are 46 ranch style duplex and triplex condominiums designed for persons over 55 years of age. Coventry Village is located on 22 scenic acres on the west side of Madison, Wisconsin.

Unlike many retirement communities, there is never a life lease or entrance fee required for a Courtyard Home.  You purchase your own condo and your equity and investment in a Courtyard Home remains your own.

Courtyard Homeowners enjoy an exceptional lifestyle in a friendly and welcoming community. The Courtyard Homeowners Association is financially sound and governed by a five member board of directors comprised of unit owners.

With a commanding location on the highest point in Madison, our condominiums are nestled among greenery, flowers, common areas, a gazebo, walking paths and a community garden.  We are close to many shopping, entertainment and leisure opportunities on Madison’s popular west side.

Services provided through a modest monthly condo association assessment include snow removal, trash and recycling pickup, building insurance, and lawn and shrub care.

Brief History of Coventry Village:

The Coventry Village Campus was developed in the mid-late 1990’s by developer
Harris Webber. He started with Condos, then an independent living building (The
Brookline) and also an assisted care facility (The Sebring).

Mr. Webber’s vision was for a community where condo owners could purchase meals
at The Brookline, attend weekly Happy Hours and other events organized for
Brookline residents. While this information was used in the original marketing
material, there was no formal written agreement, and it was not part of the
condominium declaration or by laws when the developer turned the management over
to the condo owners in 2006 with the creation of the Coventry Village Homeowners
Association (CHOA). Condo owners did not pay a fee to use the Brookline facilities
unless there was a separate fee associated with the event, such as for a meal or for
transportation.

One of the benefits of this arrangement was that condo owners became familiar with
The Brookline and Sebring. When owners decided they needed a different living
arrangement, they often moved to one of the two buildings.

Mr. Webber sold The Brookline and Sebring to Five Star Senior Living in 2015.
Initially the relationship continued. However, when Covid came in 2020 access to
both buildings was understandably closed off.
